Tips for disabled students

 Barrierefrei - Studium mit Behinderung

Our university also offers disabled students the chance to study and will help them to overcome difficulties by planning their courses individually in advance. They will receive all necessary support to manage their studies.

In particular, our university offers a number of advantages for disabled students:

  • We are a campus university  campus map - this means that everything is in the immediate vicinity.
  •  We offer accommodation for disabled students on the campus specially designed for their needs  Student accomodation
  • We have equipped all buildings with facilities required for disabled students (e.g. easy access to lecture halls, seminar rooms, library and refectory).
  • We offer a special parking lot close to the lecture halls.

On 10th September 2003, a day specially devoted to disabled students, within the framework of the European Year for the Disabled, our university was awarded the status of a barrier-free university. This status is awarded to institutions which take special care for disabled people.

The examination regulations take special consideration of the needs of disabled students. For example, they are allowed to take more than the usual time or to sit exams of a similar type, depending on the particular disability.
