Main areas of research at the University of Applied Sciences, Stralsund
The scientists at the University of Applied Sciences, Stralsund, deal with both teaching and applied research. With regard to their research, they work closely with regional companies and institutions in order to establish common fields for research and development. Their research mainly focuses on specific fields of engineering and business which, on the one hand, allow a reasonably broad range, an interdisciplinary approach and complexity within a certain field, and which, on the other hand, are the basis for practice orientation and recognized co-operation. These research fields include:
- Computer science applied to medicine, engineering and business
Applied research in the field of modern information systems and their use in engineering and business. The research further focus in information and technical systems with the purpose of diagnosis and therapy in medicine.
- Engineering systems, resource-saving technologies and renewable energy
Applied research in the field of modern engineering systems in general and of energy systems in particular.
- Firm – Region – Tourism
Empirical and methodological based analysis of business decisions in terms of determinants, implementation and impact. Special attention is paid to the reciprocal relationship between the enterprise level and regional development as well as the influence of global market conditions.
Further information regarding specific fields of research, which are practice-oriented and mainly focus on the economic development of the region, is presented on the homepages of the schools or in the
Catalogue of research topics of research topics.
