Main areas of research at the University of Applied Sciences, Stralsund

Forschungsschwerpunkte

The scientists at the University of Applied Sciences, Stralsund, deal with both teaching and applied research. With regard to their research, they work closely with regional companies and institutions in order to establish common fields for research and development. Their research mainly focuses on specific fields of engineering and business which, on the one hand, allow a reasonably broad range, an interdisciplinary approach and complexity within a certain field, and which, on the other hand, are the basis for practice orientation and recognized co-operation. These research fields include:

  • Renewable energies
  • Sustainable economy, tourism, international management and regional development
  • Health technology
  • Informatics and appliance in medical science, engineering and economy
  • Applied mechanics, automotive and mechanical engineering
  • Small and medium-sized enterprises, applied information and communications technology

Further information regarding specific fields of research, which are practice-oriented and mainly focus on the economic development of the region, is presented on the homepages of the schools or in the
Catalogue of research topics of research topics.

Contact persons for research at the schools are
